Jesus is laid in the tomb

After a long and difficult journey, we have finally arrived at the last station – Jesus is laid in the tomb. He has been condemned, forced to carry the cross, fallen three times, crucified and has died. And for what, you may ask?
The better question is for whom. He went through all this pain and torture for us. He sacrificed Himself so that we could be saved from our sins and eternal death. He gave us a second chance to redeem ourselves and lead our lives in a path of forgiveness and compassion – what more could we ask for?
Some may feel guilty, grateful or surprised by Jesus’ actions – the important thing is to realize how much God loves us. Offering up your only Son to pay for other’s sins is unthinkable; yet He did it. Put yourself in His shoes just for a moment, and try to imagine how difficult it must have been to decide whether to save humanity or your only Son. He gave us the gift of salvation. We should rejoice and be grateful for His saving grace. We have been rescued!
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him” (John 3:16-17).
